A Suggestion Box of Ideas for Increasing School Funding Revenues
Sell advertising to businesses in their schoolwide monthly newsletters. Work in conjunction with other publications to obtain advertisers.
Hold aluminum can drives and market to everyone in the surrounding neigborhood, not just the parents of the children in the school. Do a door to door flyer distribution to announce this and send a press release to The West Valley View, The Republic South West Valley, The Coffe News, West Valley Magazine, and subURBAN.west chronicles (of course!) Use this for other "drives" as well!
Hold an annual youth basketball tournament by inviting sport club teams to compete pay an entrance fee to cover referee expenses and charge admission.
Encourage private after school instruction on campus for things like piano, art, gymnastics, academic tutoring and sports clinics. Make it affordable for parents and split the revenues with the private entities.
Rather than donate the myriad of jackets and sweatshirts that seem to collect in large amounts by the end of the year, hold a "Losers Weepers, Finders Keepers" sale at the end of the year and offer them for sale at $5.00 each, they'll go like hot cakes!

Corte Sierra PTSA responds to the recent cutbacks by looking for new cheese!
Most people are aware of the recent cuts in education funding. It happens. Why waste time focusing on the problem? The PTSA at Corte Sierra Elementary School understands this! They have already begun looking for new cheese!
The PTSA contacted Gateway Office Products (formerly WigWam Office Supply) and asked if they could help out with a paper drive. Gateway was more than happy to help. As a result, Corte Sierra will be able to purchase reams of paper for only $2.00 each from Gateway! The reams normally run $3.99. The school is asking that parents bring in $2.00 for every child in attendance at the school. The PTSA is matching dollar for dollar up to $1800.00 that is brought in. All of which will go to stocking up on paper.
Even if you are not a parent, it might be a good idea to contribute anyway! $2.00 can make a real difference! You can stop by Corte Sierra at:
